Vein Cut, Banded
Banding runs in rings on this red travertine round basin
Vein cut travertine gives horizontal banding. Wrapped around a 400 mm cylinder those bands run as rings, so the column is read in layers rather than as one mass.
Rings rather than a scattered pattern
A vein cut face produces near parallel lines. On a drum they close into rings, which is a very different effect from a mottled cut in the same stone.
Band line meets the floor line
Because the bands are horizontal, a piece that sits out of level looks wrong immediately. Level the floor before the column is set.
The mottled cut of the same travertine is listed in the stone pedestal basin range.
Fit & Clearance
Levelling a banded column on a 400 mm plan
Overall runs 400 x 400 x 850 mm, or 15.7" x 15.7" x 33.5" H.
Horizontal banding makes level obvious to anyone in the room. Give the installer a levelling instruction with the drawing, not just a set out dimension.
The waste runs inside the column and the piece stands free. Mark the outlet before the floor finish is laid.
Include a levelling note in the install instruction for banded stone.
Construction & Finish
Red travertine taken on the vein cut face
Red travertine, polished. The title describes the face as vein cut.
Cut direction changes the product
The cut is what makes this code look the way it does. Approve a sample against the cut, and keep the reference with the order until the goods are cleared.
Two travertine cylinders run in this collection with different faces. Selecting the cut is a design decision that is fixed at order stage.
Write vein cut and SP1018 on the PO line so the cut is not assumed.
Compliance
Describing a cut without overclaiming
Note the cut on the approved sample record and keep the spec sheet with it. That is what a later comparison is made against.
Vein cut is an appearance description taken from the listing. It says nothing about behaviour in service, so keep the submittal to code, size and material.
Name the destination market at enquiry and its documents are arranged from there. Nothing is listed against this code.
Procurement
Choosing between two cuts of the same travertine
Both cuts come from our own production, so a buyer can trial one and switch without changing supplier.
Distributors testing a warm stone usually take one cut first and add the other once it sells. Each cut is its own code, so the second one is added on the next release without reopening the sample approval.
Enquiries are quoted within 12 hours. Custom sizes, printed logo and private label cartons are covered by the SANIKB OEM and ODM programme.
Include these details with the RFQ
- Quantity against SP1018
- Cut selected per line item
- Approved sample reference
- Levelling instruction required
- Carton marking and packaging
- Inspection and loading window
- Destination port and Incoterm
Each cut counts as its own code, so each needs 50 pcs.
How we work
From enquiry to shipment
A factory-direct process built for importers, distributors and project buyers. No trading layer in between.
-
01
Send the enquiry
Tell us the model, quantity, destination market and any branding or packaging requirement. A spec sheet or drawing helps but is not required to start.
-
02
Our sales team contacts you
A named account manager follows up by email or WhatsApp, confirms the specification and clarifies anything missing before pricing.
-
03
Quotation
You receive a written quotation with unit price, MOQ, packing details, lead time and the trade term you asked for. Entry, mid and premium build levels can be quoted side by side.
-
04
Sample approval
We send a sample for finish, function and packaging sign-off. Branded samples are produced once artwork is confirmed.
-
05
Production and shipment
Mass production starts after sample approval and deposit. QC and inspection run before loading, then the order ships to the agreed port.
OEM and ODM to your specification
We develop to a brief. Send a reference model, a drawing or simply the price band and market you are targeting, and we will propose what fits. Entry, mid and premium builds are all available from the same factory.
