The Rim Is The Detail

A tapered travertine basin with a worked rim edge

On a pedestal the rim is the part people actually touch. The record for SP1025 carries a chiselled rim above a polished body, so the edge is described separately from the rest of the piece.

01 / EDGE

A worked line at hand height

The title records a chiselled rim. That is the detail a showroom points at, so carry the wording onto the display card and onto the PO.

02 / BODY

Polished below, tapered down

The column narrows from a 420 mm bowl across 850 mm of height. Surface below the rim is published as polished.

Texture sells in person and photographs flat. Place it beside the smooth codes in the travertine and marble pedestal range.

Fit & Clearance

Rim at 850 mm on a finished floor

Rim height is 850 mm and the plan is 420 mm. Both are factory figures.

Overall Size 16.5" × 16.5" × 33.5" H (420 × 420 × 850 mm)
Plan Shape Tapered, 420 mm maximum
Mounting Freestanding pedestal, floor-mounted
Overall Height 33.5" (850 mm)

Height is set in the factory and cannot be trimmed later. Fix the mirror and the tap off the 850 mm line.

A worked rim is the first surface a fitter handles. Brief the site to keep the packing on until the room is finished.

Handling on site is the contractor's call. The drawing covers dimensions only.

Construction & Finish

Travertine with a chiselled top edge

Travertine is the body. The title adds a chiselled rim and the specification adds a polished surface.

TRAVERTINE

Edge and body, both recorded

The rim wording and the finish wording are separate entries on the record. Repeat both on the PO so the inspector checks the edge as well as the body.

Travertine is quoted by name and the rim treatment is quoted with it. Neither belongs in a footnote on the order.

Polished is the only surface on this record. A different finish is a factory question, so raise it at RFQ.

Compliance

What the document file has to hold

DOC
Two documents, one code

Drawing plus data sheet is what most specifiers need from a stone basin. Both are released against SP1025 on request.

No scheme or mark is listed against this code. Build the tender file from the drawing and the data sheet instead.

Give the destination country at enquiry. Worked stone is inspected on arrival, so the paperwork should reach the port before the goods do.

Procurement

Sampling before the rim goes to line

We run the production ourselves, so the sample and the shipment come off the same plan.

Published MOQ 50 pcs
Standard Lead Time 30–45 days after sample approval

MOQ is 50 pcs on SP1025. Smooth and worked codes can sit on one order, which is how a showroom gets both textures on the floor for a single PO.

Packing for a worked rim is agreed at the same time as the branding. Both sit in the SANIKB OEM and ODM programme. Quotes are answered within 12 hours.

Include these details with the RFQ

  • Quantity per model code
  • Rim treatment stated on the line
  • Drawing plus dimensioned data sheet
  • Packing detail for the worked edge
  • Box marking and print language
  • Port of entry and shipping term
  • Target date for the display

Approve the sample before the line opens. The rim is the item to look at.

FAQs

What dimensions and mounting does this travertine pedestal basin require for installation?

This chiselled-rim travertine pedestal basin is a freestanding, floor-mounted unit measuring 16.5" x 16.5" x 33.5" H (420 x 420 x 850 mm), so it needs only a finished floor and a wall water supply rather than a vanity or countertop cutout.

How should the chiselled rim and travertine surface be sealed and maintained in commercial restrooms?

Travertine is a porous natural stone, so we recommend a penetrating stone sealer on delivery and periodic resealing, with pH-neutral cleaners only to protect the chiselled rim from etching in high-traffic hotel and hospitality use.

Can the tapered profile or finish be customized for a project order?

Yes, the tapered pedestal form, rim treatment, and surface finish can be adjusted for project quantities; contact us for MOQ, lead time, and a project quote.
