Carved Detail

Stepped rings cut into a fossil stone bowl

SP179 is a round fossil limestone basin, 16.5 in across and 5.5 in tall. The outer wall is stepped in concentric rings rather than left smooth.

01 / STEPS

Tiers machined into the wall

Each ring is cut into the same block, so the steps hold their line all the way round. Side light picks up the shadow between tiers.

02 / FOSSILS

Shell marks between the tiers

Pale shell fossils cross the steps in a near-black ground referenced at #25221F. The cut exposes a different section on every bowl.

Showrooms use it as the sculptural piece against the plain bowls in our stone vessel basin program.

Fit & Clearance

420 mm overall with the steps inside the footprint

The widest ring sets the footprint. Measure to that, not to the rim.

Overall size Ø16.5" × 5.5" H (Ø420 × 140 mm)
Mounting Above-counter (vessel)
Bowl shape Round vessel basin

Leave clear counter around the piece so the stepped profile stays visible from the side. Pushed against a backsplash, the detail disappears.

Stepped edges are the first thing to catch during handling. Plan storage so pieces are not stacked rim to rim.

Step count and spacing are fixed by the approved drawing for your order.

Construction & Finish

Fossil limestone machined into tiers

Fossil limestone is the listed material here, and polished is the listed finish.

Shell fossil

Steps machined, then finished

The tiers are cut from the solid rather than applied. Finishing follows the steps so the whole surface reads the same.

Fossil density varies through the block, so some bowls show heavy shell across the steps and others show very little. Agree an acceptable range if you are selling from a single photograph.

Ask for batch photographs before shipment if the range matters to your customer.

Compliance

Handling and marking for a shaped piece

DOC
Marking set at the order stage

Carton marking, labels and handling instructions follow the brief you provide with the purchase order.

SP179 has no certification mark on its specification, so none appears here. Ask for the document list for your market when you raise the RFQ.

Tell us what handling and fragile marking your warehouse and carrier require. Marking requirements are set in the order, not assumed from a standard carton.

Procurement

Ordering the tiered SP179 basin

Order terms for the tiered model.

Published MOQ 50 pcs
Standard Lead Time 30–45 days (typical)

Step count, ring spacing and overall height are tooling decisions, so they can be drawn to your own design under the SANIKB OEM and ODM program.

Shaped models take more machining time than plain bowls, so confirm quantities early if your delivery week is fixed.

Include these details with the RFQ

  • Model SP179 and quantity
  • Required delivery week
  • Destination port and Incoterm
  • Acceptable fossil density range
  • Own-brand carton artwork
  • Sample approval before machining

The stated lead time assumes the step profile is approved unchanged.

FAQs

What is the stepped ringed-shell design on the SP179 fossil stone sink?

The exterior is carved into tiered, stepped rings resembling a shell, a sculptural detail hand-finished into each fossil limestone bowl.

Does the tiered carving affect the basin's installed dimensions?

No, despite the stepped exterior the basin sits at Ø16.5" × 5.5" high (Ø420 × 140 mm), matching the footprint of our standard round vessels.

How should the carved ridges be cleaned in hospitality settings?

Wipe the ringed surface with a soft cloth and pH-neutral cleaner, and keep the limestone sealed to protect the textured grooves from staining.
