A rounded corner is a design decision, not a flaw to be corrected later. On S3218 it softens the junction of wall and floor, which is where scale and grime collect.

It also gives the buyer a clear choice between families. A rounded-corner bowl suits residential and mainstream project kitchens, while a zero-radius bowl gives a sharper, more architectural line. Decide which family the project wants before drawings go to the stone fabricator, because the two are not interchangeable once the countertop is cut.

Steel for this stainless steel kitchen sink is SUS304 at 18 gauge (1.2 mm) with a brushed surface. The sink is handmade, so the corner radius is formed as part of the bowl.

SITE CHECKS

Cutout, supports and waste before fabrication

Send the cabinet drawing and the S3218 drawing to the stone fabricator together. The overall size is the sink body, and the countertop opening is cut from the template. Send both with the quotation request, so the 32 inch width and 18 inch front to back size are checked against the cabinet run before production is scheduled for the order.

Confirm the cabinet clear opening, the way the sink is supported, and the waste position below the bowl. A 3-1/2 inch drain opening takes common strainers, though the chosen waste fitting still needs its own clearance check.

Undermount installation also needs an edge decision, the reveal. Agree it with the installer before the template is cut, because it changes how the rim sits against the counter. Mark the faucet position on the same plan.
