SANIKB D-8317 is an egg-shaped acrylic freestanding bathtub: broad and rounded at the backrest end, then narrowing toward the opposite end, where the drain and overflow sit. The slim rim stays level along its length instead of rising like a slipper tub. D-8317 is made in white in two sizes: D-8317-150 at 1500 × 780 × 600 mm (59 × 30.7 × 23.6 in) and D-8317-170 at 1700 × 800 × 600 mm (67 × 31.5 × 23.6 in).

The rim has no tap holes; D-8317 takes a floor-standing or wall-mounted filler. It is cUPC certified and made by SANIKB for distributors, contractors and hotel projects; see the SANIKB freestanding bathtub range.

    Egg-shaped plan with the backrest at the wide end

    D-8317 has an asymmetric egg plan: a broad round end that tapers to a narrower opposite end. Unlike a slipper tub, the rim does not climb at the backrest; it stays level all the way round.

    Single-ended, sloped wall at the broad end

    The wall at the broad end is drawn with more slope than the opposite end, which makes it the backrest. The bather faces the narrow end.

    02 / DRAIN POSITION

    Drain centered on the width, toward the narrow end

    On the drawing the drain sits 1220 mm from the wide end on the 1700 mm size and 1020 mm on the 1500 mm size. Across the width it is centered, 400 mm and 390 mm from the side.

    Because the plan narrows toward the drain, the tub looks different from each side of the room. Decide whether the filler sits by the broad backrest end or the narrow drain end before the floor layout is fixed.
