12 Inch Rough-In Toilets

The 12 inch rough in toilet fits the most common floor-drain layout in North American homes: 12 in, about 300 or 305 mm, measured from the finished wall to the center of the drain. All 74 models here list that S-trap setting. One-piece bodies dominate at 58 models, joined by 9 smart toilets and 7 two-piece toilets. Many bodies print more than one rough-in, which helps when a single model must cover mixed sites: 10 in is also listed on 26 models, 16 in on 14, 8 in on 4 and 4 in on 1. A P-trap version is listed on 29 models as well. Siphonic flushing is printed on 44 models and washdown on 27, with swirl on 7 and rimless on 2. Seven models include a bidet function. Lengths run from 590 to 760 mm, and white is listed on 73 models.

    One number, two metric readings

Three details to check on a 12 inch rough in toilet order

On paper a 12 inch rough in toilet is the easy case. On a purchase order it needs a closer look, because the same nominal setting is printed two ways and many bodies list more than one drain option.

Check the metric figure on each sheet. Most ceramic one-piece and two-piece bodies here print the setting as 300 mm, while the floor-mounted smart toilets Y1, Y2, E5 and E6 print 305 mm, and HSJ-V8200 prints 305 / 400 mm. Both describe the 12 in setting; copy the figure printed for each model when a site drawing already states a metric value.

The second trap is the multi-setting body. HSJ-2332 prints S-trap 100 / 200 / 300 / 400 mm, so one model lists four floor settings, yet each unit is supplied for one of them. A P-trap version, where offered, is printed at 180 mm, which is a separate wall-outlet setting rather than another floor distance.

The third is flush naming. Several bodies list alternative versions, such as Siphonic / Washdown on HSJ-2347 and Washdown / Swirl on HSJ-2390, and those are listed as alternative versions of the same model. State one on every order line.

HSJ-2531 and HSJ-2555 mark the short and long ends of the 590–760 mm span. HSJ-V8200 is also offered as HSJ-V8700 with a standard lid instead of the auto-open lid.

Multi-setting bodies such as HSJ-2332, HSJ-2347 and HSJ-2201 let a warehouse hold one design and call off the drain setting per order. List the split by setting on the PO, since each unit is supplied for one.

    Contractors on replacement jobs

Where the existing drain sits at 12 in, single-setting bodies such as HSJ-2528, HSJ-2480 and SL-8042 keep the spec sheet simple for the site team: one drain figure, one flush type.

    Private-label smart toilet programs

Y1, Y2, E5 and E6 share AC 110 V, 60 Hz power, IPX4 protection, instant heating and a printed 4.8 L / 1.28 gpf, with an MOQ of 20 pcs per model. Feature packages differ: E6 adds a radar sensor and foot-sensing flip, E5 offers an optional built-in toilet cleaner. Logo and packaging work runs through our OEM/ODM service.

Order-line checklist for 12 in stock

Writing a 12 inch rough in toilet RFQ that quotes cleanly

Pricing is quoted per order with an MOQ per model, and written replies come within 12 business hours. Send these details to avoid a second round of questions.

    1. Model and drain setting per line

Write the model, then S-trap 300 mm (or 305 mm for the smart bodies). For multi-setting bodies, give quantities per setting rather than one combined total.

    2. P-trap lines kept separate

If part of the order needs the 180 mm P-trap version, list it as its own line so packing and labels match.

    3. Flush build named

Where a model offers siphonic, washdown or swirl builds, state which one. Do not leave it open.

    4. Finish and lid options

Confirm white or, for HSJ-2373M, black. For HSJ-V8200 / HSJ-V8700, choose auto-open or standard lid; for Y-series and E-series, list the optional bubble or voice control features you want.

    5. Market marks and branding

Say which marks your market requires and check them against each model's tags, then note any logo, carton or manual changes for an OEM review at /pages/oem-odm-service.

    FAQs

Is 12 inch rough-in standard for toilets?

Rough-in is the distance from the finished wall, not the baseboard, to the center of the floor drain. A 12 in rough-in, roughly 300 or 305 mm, is the most common setting for floor-drain toilets in North American homes, which is why it anchors this collection. Measure it before ordering; if the reading is closer to 10 in, a 12 in model will not fit the space.

Which toilet types are offered with a 12 inch rough-in?

One-piece toilets lead with 58 of the 74 models, giving most buyers a skirted or compact body to choose from. Smart toilets add 9 models and two-piece toilets 7. Each body type gives its own length and flushing, so view the drawings side by side. Buyers interested in more one-piece bodies across every rough-in can browse the one-piece toilet collection.

    Will a 10 inch rough-in toilet fit a 12 inch rough-in?

Usually it will: a 10 in model on a 12 in drain sits about 2 in further from the wall, leaving a gap behind the tank. The reverse does not work, since a 12 in body needs at least 12 in of room. The same logic applies when an older 14 in setting is replaced with a new toilet at 12 in. If the site measures closer to 10 in, start with the 10 inch rough-in range.

What rough-in sizes do toilets come in?

Across this collection, the printed settings are 12 in on all 74 models, 10 in on 26, 16 in on 14, 8 in on 4 and 4 in on 1. Many bodies print more than one size, which helps distributors serving mixed housing, but each unit is supplied for one setting. A P-trap version is also offered on 29 models for wall drains. View the drawing on the product page to confirm the outlet before the order is placed.

How are MOQ, lead time and OEM handled?

These are quoted per model. A container of 12 in models often mixes one-piece, two-piece and smart bodies, and each line can carry its own figures depending on color, carton marking and destination. OEM and ODM supply is available with your brand on the product, carton and inserts; state the rough-in for each line and the destination market, since certification marks vary by model. Written replies go out within 12 business hours.

How do I choose between siphonic and washdown models?

Both flushing types are printed on 12 in models: siphonic on 44 and washdown on 27. Swirl appears on 7 and rimless on 2. The flushing version is fixed per model, so pick it alongside the body type and length, which ranges from 590 to 760 mm. A few things to learn from each product page before ordering: the flush version, the outlet and the exact body size.
