Read the 1400 mm figure as a diameter, so it applies in every direction. A tub of this form needs the same clearance on every side, which is easier to draw as a circle than as a rectangle.

Both inner depths of the freestanding bathtub, 460 mm and 470 mm, come from the dimension drawing. Use them, not the 600 mm overall height, when you judge how deep the water sits for a bather.

Mark the center first. The drain sits there, 700 mm from the outer edge, so the floor waste and the tub share a single reference point, which is simpler than laying out freestanding bathtubs with a long axis.

Across 1400 mm, with the drain 700 mm from the outer edge, the drain sits at the exact center of the circle. Measure from that point to each wall and to the doorway to confirm the whole circle fits with working space around it.

Keep doors, vanities and radiators clear of the circle. Because a round plan has no head or foot, the walls it faces matter less than the space around it.

Lay out the faucet before the finishes. A floor-standing filler can go at any point on the circle, so choose the side that suits the room.

A round tub arrives differently from a long one, so give the receiving crew a short checklist.

Open the carton where the tub will be installed. Look first at the base ring, because it is the part that meets the floor, then check the rim.

Freestanding bathtubs arrive with the gloss intact only if the carton is sound, so inspect the surface in raking light for scuffs, and compare the white tone with the approved sample. Record any damage with photos of the carton before it is discarded.
